The PGA TOUR and ESPN are massively expanding their PGA TOUR LIVE Betcast with partner DraftKings, growing the betting-focused broadcast from a 50-hour experiment to over 400 hours for the 2026 season. The move is designed to solve the frustrating latency issues for in-play bettors and capitalize on a golf betting market that grew 20% last year.
DraftKings takes the tee: The expanded Betcast will run for over eight hours each tournament day on the ESPN App, starting with the WM Phoenix Open. The dedicated stream for betting analysis and live odds will live alongside the main feed, positioning DraftKings front-and-center after it notably replaced ESPN Bet as the network's official sportsbook in December.
Demographics and dollars: The collaboration is a strategic play to attract and retain a younger, betting-savvy audience. For DraftKings, it's an eight-hour daily commercial integrated directly into the product, with CMO Stephanie Sherman calling it a "shared, forward-looking approach to fan engagement."
No longer a side bet: The schedule now includes the tour's premier events, such as The Genesis Invitational, THE PLAYERS Championship, and all three legs of the FedExCup Playoffs. The inclusion of these top-tier tournaments signals the broadcast is no longer a side experiment, but a main event in the TOUR's digital strategy.
By transforming a niche stream into a core offering, the PGA TOUR and its partners are making a definitive statement: betting is now a central, monetizable part of the fan experience, not just an afterthought. The partnership also extends into creator-focused events, with DraftKings sponsoring "The Showdown at 16," a closest-to-the-pin challenge at the WM Phoenix Open for charity.
